Landing Page Revamped

Everyone knows the difference between a villain and a supervillain is PRESENTATION! And when it comes to selling game assets, it's pretty much the same.
It's not just about making the best asset you can, but also about giving the proper spotlight. If you put effort into making something great, why not also put effort into sharing it with people the best way you can? How can you turn people onto it, show something that they've been missing out on?
I figured I could do some rework on the landing page. The description does paint a good picture of what use the laser beams are to the viewer, but it was lacking visual representation.
From what I’ve seen so far from the analytics of this asset pack, most people made their purchase right after playing the browser test. If there were more visuals in the page apart from the browser test, like GIFs and background images, people could have a faster and easier way to see the lasers in action.
With that in mind, here’s how the Ultimate Laser Pack landing page went from this…
to this!
I wanted to represent all the different uses for the laser beams as per the description says: shooters, fighters, platformers, top-down, puzzle games, etc. So I took inspiration from arcade games, duels with wizards, and puzzle games, and made my own renditions.
I came up with a blue color palette that wasn't too flashy, ensuring that the visuals of the GIFs wouldn't take away the attention of the viewers from the lasers.
Then I made the animations on Aseprite. Had some fun with the gradient tool there, and made sure to use all laser variations on the GIFs and on the background of the page. Also, for the Embed BG (something I didn't know you could customize until a few weeks ago) I used the main cover without the title.
Lastly, I moved the laser GIFs from the sidebar to the description. There, they can be seen next to the game examples, and they don't freeze when seen on mobile like the screenshot GIFs does.
Thanks for reading!
